No team in NFL history has gone from a period of greatness to uncompetitiveness and then back to greatness again like the Green Bay Packers. In the 60's, under Legendary Coach Vince Lombardi and utilizing extraordinary talents such as Bart Starr, Herb Adderley, Willie Davis, Forrest Gregg, Paul Hornung, Ray Nitschke and Jim Taylor the Packers were the hottest team in football. Things would change after Lombardi's departure. The Packers organization fell upon a string of mostly losing seasons with few bright spots. Between 1967, Lombardi's last season and 1992, Mike Holmgrens first season, the Packers made the playoffs twice and had just four winning seasons. Mike Holmgren restored the Packers to their winning ways, ultimately bringing the title home to Green Bay. He accomplished this with great players like Brett Favre, Dorsey Levens, Reggie White, Robert Brooks, Mark Chmura, Antonio Freeman, Desmond Howard, Eugene Robinson, and Gilbert Brown.
