Previous to the current
dynasty which owner Robert
Kraft and Bill Belichick has
engineered, one in which we
are all
aware of, there were great
Patriots teams. In 1985 the
cinderella season put together
by New England was made
possible by the great play of
RB Craig James and QB Steve
Grogan. Bill Parcells also built
a winner in New England, in
the late 90's with the talents
of Drew Bledsoe and Curtis
Martin. Unfortunately for both
teams they played 2 of the
best teams in NFL history. In
1985 the
Chicago Bears peaked to such
a high level by the super bowl
that no team could have
competed. Same is true of
the 1993 Packers and QB
Brett Favre. No team could
really compete with
Holmgrens Green Bay team,
but a credit to Parcells. He
kept New England close and
nearly game planned a win.
