Old school fans can tell you
that one thing was fairly
consistent on Sundays during
the 70's. You turn on the tube
and who do you see? Terry
Bradshaw, Jack Lambert,
Lynn Swann, John Stallworth,
Jack Ham, Franco Harris,
Mean Joe Greene,
Coach Chuck Knoll and the
Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers with the
exception of the Cowboys,
received the greatest media
coverage throughout the
entire 1970's which meant
televised games. The
Steelers had one of the most
talented rosters ever
accumulated in NFL history.
This produced many wins.
Between 1972-1979 the
Steelers had a record of
88-27-1 and claimed 4 World
Championships. In 2006,
Coach Bill Cowher
captured
the elusive Lombardi Trophy
once again
for the city of Pittsburgh
by beating the Seahawks.
